Parc Borély Marseille
Parc Borély, laid out by Jean-Charles Alphand between 1860 and 1880, is one of the favourite parks of Marseille residents, with its vast relaxation areas just steps from the beaches.
Covering 17 hectares, it is a genuine breathing space in the heart of the city.
A park valued for its spaces and activities
The site features a lake, a refreshment stand and a restaurant. Parc Borély is also an ideal spot for children, thanks to its vast open areas and playgrounds.

In 1995, Jean-Michel Folon’s original work, “L’Homme aux oiseaux” (The Man with Birds), was installed within the 19th-century rockery waterfall.
Cultural heritage at the heart of the park
At the centre of the park stands the Château Borély, an 18th-century bastide listed as a historic monument. This building is now home to the Museum of Decorative Arts and Fashion.
The park also has a strong historical dimension: it hosted the Marseille Grand Prix motor race between 1930 and 1950, it was mentioned in several novels by Marcel Pagnol, and it has appeared in the TV series Plus Belle la Vie since 2004.
