The Corniche Kennedy, officially named Corniche du Président John Fitzgerald Kennedy, runs along the Marseille coastline from Plage des Catalans to the Prado beaches.
This famous promenade is one of the most beautiful seafront routes in Marseille.
A journey through iconic districts
Located in the 7th arrondissement of Marseille, the Corniche passes through several emblematic districts:
- Endoume
- Roucas Blanc
- Les Catalans
- Bompard
It stretches to the Prado roundabout and offers views over remarkable sites such as Vallon des Auffes and Anse de la Fausse Monnaie.
A unique seafront walk
Along the Corniche, nearly 3 kilometres of benches line up facing the sea.
From this vantage point, you can admire the Château d’If, the Frioul islands and the Mediterranean horizon.
Iconic monuments and works of art
Two commemorative monuments punctuate the Corniche: the war memorial to the Army of the Orient and the memorial to repatriates, a monumental propeller blade created by César.
A contemporary artistic expression
On the wall at 84 Corniche Kennedy, Marseille displayed the famous portrait of Zinédine Zidane for nearly ten years. Today, this work has been replaced by the portrait of a Marseille woman, created by the artist JR.
