Orsay Museum Paris

Housed in the former Orsay station, the Orsay Museum was inaugurated in 1900. It has the greatest collection of impressionist masterpieces.

In 1900, the painter Edouard Detaille already enjoyed the architecture of the train station. He compared it to a Palace of Fine Arts. A few decades later, it was transformed into a museum

This iconic place was opened in 1986. It now draws more than three million visitors per month who can admire thousands of artworks

Various collections are exhibited: decorative arts, painting or sculpture. Among the numerous works of art the museum has got, you will find Olympia by Manet, The Dancer by Degas or The painter's studio by Courbet

Of course, various artistic trends from different eras are represented. This is an opportunity to discover the masterpieces of many famous artists such as Van Gogh, Cezanne and Rodin.

This monument has been extensively renovated between 2009 and 2011 and is now called "the New Orsay”.

The main goal was to adapt the museum to the high attendance it knows and improve the quality of the experience for the visitor. The project is to be achieved in 2015. To keep you waiting, many permanent and temporary exhibitions are organized!
