The Silo Marseille

The Silo is a theatre located in the second district of Marseille close to the "Euromediterranean" area.

 

The Silo theatre used to be grain elevator built in 1924. In 2001, the city of Marseille acquired the building to transform it into a big theatre. It has undergone major renovations in 2007 and reopened its doors to the public in 2011.

 

The architect Roland Carta was responsible for the development of the building and transformed the premises into an Italian theatre with three balconies: Orchestra, Balcony 1 and Balcony 2. The room can receive up to 2000 people and has got a retractable orchestra pit in order to receive opera concerts. In addition, a space is dedicated to seminars and conferences.

The Silo offers a rich program and you can choose between its different plays, one-man shows, concerts or dance performances.
