The Calanques National Park reflects the magnificent natural heritage enjoyed by the city of Marseille and its surroundings.

A national park unique in Europe
The massif was designated Calanques National Park by decree on 18 April 2012.
It is:
- France’s 10th national park
- the first national park in Europe to be simultaneously continental, marine and peri-urban

Notably, you can observe the Provence sandwort, an endemic species found only between Marseille and Toulon, and the ocellated lizard, the largest lizard in Europe.
