Monuments and sites

Mount Faron
Behind the New Hotel Tour Blanche is the 584m-high Mount Faron with its fabulous views of Toulon and its basin. Whether you choose to take the cable car or the road to the summit, you will find here the Memorial Landing Museum and the Mount Faron Zoo.

Le Fort de la Rade
24 forts, towers and batteries were built around the Toulon basin. The Royal Tower, the Balaguier Fort and the Beaumont Tower are open to the public; the others can be seen from the exterior.

Guided visits of Toulon basin
To understand Toulon, there is no better way than to see it by sea. Throughout the year there are many boat trips by which to visit Europe’s most beautiful sea basin.

Toulon Arsenal
A city within a city. Toulon is the largest military Mediterranean port and houses the 3rd Region Maritime Prefecture. The arsenal is not at present open to visits.

Within less than an hour: the calanques (beautiful narrow creeks) of Cassis, the Verdon Gorges, the Iles d’Or, lavender fields, vineyards, olive oil mills, Castellet racetrack, and mediaeval villages.
