Toulon - the harbour

Walks

In order to fully appreciate Toulon, there is nothing like approaching it from the sea.

All year round, the port’s boatmen offer guided tours of the most beautiful harbour in Europe. You sail along the naval base and the French Navy buildings, the marine cemetery - the final anchoring place for ships, the La Seyne-sur-Mer port and the former naval shipyards, the Tamaris seaside pathway, the Lazaret bay and mussel beds, the Sablettes, the Saint-Mandrier peninsula, the harbour wall which closes the harbour off to the east, the forts (Eyguillette, Balaguier, Saint-Louis, Napoléon, Lamalgue Tour Royale, Cap Brun), the coastal path and the Mourillon beaches.

Boat-buses leave from Toulon port going to La Seyne, Tamaris, the Sablettes and Saint-Mandrier (lines 8M, 18M and 28M).
During the summer period there are also crossings to Porquerolles, tickets on sale from the Tourist Office.
