Come and discover this unique cathedral built in 19th century France! The cathedral of la Major or basilica of Sainte-Marie-Majeure (la Major) evokes the Eastern Hemisphere by its Romano-Byzantine style.

It is in the shape of a Latin cross with an ambulatory.  Its total length is 146m, the main dome is at a height of 70m with a 18 m diameter!
The cathedral is divided into two parts, the « new Major » and the « old Major » which is an old Roman church rebuilt during the middle of the 12th century.
It was classed as an historical monument in 1840.

Visits take place every afternoon Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 5.30 pm.
