Royal Greenhouses Laeken Brussels
From 18/04/2014 to 09/05/2014
Open to the public only three weeks a year, the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken Castle welcomes you in 2014 from April 18 to carry on with a century-old tradition.
True Garden of Eden, these greenhouses were built in 1873 by the architect Alphonse Balat under the orders of King Leopold II. Made entirely of glass and metal, these monuments were a real innovation for the time. Today, they gather various rare plants but also some of the original plants from Leopold II. The Winter Garden, first greenhouse built in the city of glass also contains palm plantations dating from this period.
Immerse yourself for a few hours in an exotic paradise that it is possible to see only once a year. The change of scenery is guaranteed !
