The Black Opera Marseille

From 10/01/2014 to 31/01/2014

Exhibitions

Following the 2010 rehabilitation of Lulli Place by the urban community Marseille Provence Metropole, the association Marseille Center, made up of downtown storekeepers called on Christophe Berdaguer and Marie Péjus to create an artwork referring to the Opera located in front of the Place.

Influenced by the bandstand at the top of the Canebiere, the artists designed the Black Opera. Visual and acoustic artwork, the Black Opera constantly transmits remixed sounds from the Opera of Marseille and offers more fluid features than the bandstand from which it is inspired.

From the partnership between the Foundation of France and Marseille Provence 2013, the artwork will be inaugurated on January 10, 2014 and will be visible in open access until the end of January. It will be an open and porous interface between public space and the imaginary world.
